How do I create or edit a dashboard?

Creating and Editing a Dashboard

This section covers everything you need to build and customize dashboards in AIQ Data. You need the User Who Can Create or Company Admin role to access these features.

Entering Edit Mode

To create a new dashboard

1. Click the Create Dashboard button in the header or go to a category and click Create Dashboard from within it.
2. This will take you to the dashboard canvas where you can click to add charts.
3. Configure your metrics and dimensions, add a drill path if needed, and click Save to create your dashboard.
4. Click Exit Edit Mode to view your dashboard.

To edit an existing dashboard

1. Click the Edit Dashboard button at the top right of the dashboard.
2. On the widget you want to update, click the widget menu icon.

From the widget menu you can:

• Edit: Update data or apply filters.
• Change Widget: Switch to a different chart type while keeping the existing data configuration.
• Duplicate: Copy the widget onto the canvas.
• Delete: Permanently remove the widget.

3. When done, click Save, then select Exit Edit Mode to return to the live dashboard view.

Note: You can add multiple charts to the same canvas. Drag them to rearrange and use the resize handle at the edge of each chart to make it larger or smaller.

3.2 Adding Charts (Widgets)

Charts in AIQ Data are called widgets. To add a chart to your dashboard:

Once in edit mode on the dashboard canvas:

1. Select a widget type based on the data you want to visualize
2. Click Continue.
3. Configure the data for the widget. 
4. Click Save to add the widget to the canvas.

Click the Exit Edit Mode button to view your final dashboard
