The Conversation Workspace

The Conversation Workspace is where you interact with Ask CAI. From here, you can ask questions, receive AI-generated responses, switch between AI agents, and continue conversations in one place. New conversations begin with helpful tips and suggested prompts to help you get started.

The Ask Visuals Workspace

The Visuals workspace displays charts and tables generated by Ask CAI during your conversations. From here, you can review, edit, and save visualizations as dashboards for future use.

How it works

1. Ask a question that generates a chart or table, such as "What was the total spend for the Engineering department in 2024?"
2. Review the response, which includes a summary of the results and a visual representation of the data.
3. Select Add to Visuals at the top of the generated visualization to add it to the Visuals workspace.
4. Open the Visuals workspace to review, edit, or save the visualization as a dashboard.

How to open an existing dashboard from Ask Visuals

In addition to viewing visualizations generated by Ask CAI, you can also open dashboards that already exist in your Personal or Company workspace.

1. Click Open Dashboard in the Visuals workspace. 
2. Select the Dashboard dropdown. 
3. Choose the dashboard you want to open. 
4. The selected dashboard will open in the Visuals workspace.

Note: Opening a dashboard in the Visuals workspace does not create a copy or affect the original dashboard. 

However, any changes you make, such as adding a new widget or editing an existing one, are automatically saved to the original dashboard. This is because you're working on the same dashboard, simply accessed through the Visuals workspace. 

 

How to Edit a Dashboard from Ask Visuals

You can edit any dashboard displayed in the Visuals workspace, whether it was generated by Ask CAI or opened from your Personal or Company workspace.

1. Click Edit Dashboard in the upper-right corner of the Visuals workspace. 
2. On the widget you want to modify, click the ellipsis (⋮) to open the widget options. 
3. Select one of the available actions: 
   • Edit to modify the widget's data configuration. 
   • Change Widget to change the visualization type (for example, from a Bar Chart to a Table). 
   • Duplicate to create a copy of the widget. 
   • Delete to remove the widget from the dashboard. 
4. Click Save to apply your changes. 

Note: Any changes you make are saved directly to the dashboard you're editing

How to Save as a New Dashboard in Ask Visuals

If you'd like to create a separate dashboard using the visualizations currently displayed in the Visuals workspace:

1. Click Save as Dashboard. 
2. Enter a title for the new dashboard. 
3. Select the category where you want to save it. 
4. Click Save.

The Conversations Panel

The Conversations panel lets you start new chats, view and continue previous conversations, and manage your chat history. All conversations are private and are only visible to you.
